La más reciente columna del ex vicepresidente Francisco Santos en la página de Internet de RCN radio tiene escandalizados a los movimientos estudiantiles y a los usuarios de las redes sociales. En su controversial intervención Santos afirmó: “Llegó el momento de decirle a todos los estudiantes que se quieren tomar las vías: o ustedes protestan por fuera o van a tener que enfrentarse durísimo con el brazo de represión legal del Estado. Aquí hace falta innovar, lo dijo la alcaldesa de Bogotá, con armas no letales como esas que les meten voltios a los muchachos. El muchacho cae, lo acatan y se lo llevan preso por interferir con una vía pública. La ley de orden público y la ley ciudadana permiten esas cosas”. En la noche de este jueves, y luego del revuelo que causó su declaración, Santos se disculpó en su cuenta de Twitter de la siguiente manera: "fue un comentario desproporcionado, fuera de lugar e injusto con los estudiantes". Pacho Santos fue el Vicepresidente del Gobierno Uribe durante ocho años.
