February 11, 2013. A former Telecom worker went to  the General Consul of Colombia in Miami Central, Florida to express our concern about the rights of workers who were laid off in a number of 10,000 without cause in 2003 and 2006 from TELECOM (National Telecommunications Company) and Teleasociadas (Telecom Associated Municipal). "For this cause there are around 350 dead including several suicides, due to the  unmercifully  events under President Alvaro Uribe Velez," the Colombian labor leader said. In a letter filed at the Consulate of Colombia in Miami, Florida in United States of America, the Colombian citizen explained that Telecom was closed on June 12, 2003 and since that time "we have been ignored, violated and stigmatized in all fundamental rights ... " He also said that in spite of positive veredict the Colombian autorities "do not granted to pay ... do not respect or grant fundamental rights".  It is expected solidarity and support from authorities and from former TELECOM COLOMBIA employees U.S. residents.
